When a call comes in on any of the 4 lines, the system answers (immediately) and says “your call is being transferred”. The called is then sent to extension 10. How do I stop the system from answering the call?. The customer does not want to use the Auto Attendant.

The system is configured as below.
Slot1 308ECR3.0
Slot2 308ECR3.0
Slot3 ACS Proc. R3.0
Slot4 206E R4.1
Slot5 Partner Messaging 7.0 w/ 4 port card (new)

Here is some of what I have tried-
Make sure no lines are assigned auto attendant
I assigned lines, then told it answer after 6 rings
I have assigned ext’s 40-43 to group 7
I removed them from group 7

Thanks for any help, sorry I'm a Norstar guy :)

The voice mail ports are not assigned to Hunt Group 7. That is the first thing you need to do when installing voice mail.

#505-7-40-1
#505-7-41-1
#505-7-42-1
#505-7-43-1

As I mentioned above, After removing them from group 7, it still answers. None of the above will stop this thing from answering. Maybe I should have more clear.

The moment I plugged this thing in it started answering immediately. No programming had been at that point.Customer has never had VM before.

For your setup, you must assign Extensions 40-43 to Hunt Group 7, using #505-7-XX-1

For the lines to be answered by the Auto Attendant, you must assign them using #206-7-LL-1

To control the number of rings before the Auto Attendant answers, use #506-M-LL-X, where M=1 for Day and 2 for Night, LL is the line number, and X is the number of rings from 0 to 6.

It doesn't matter if any or all lines are assigned to the voice mail ports, unless you are going to use Outcalling. It doesn't matter if they are assigned with Immediate, Delayed, or No Ring. As soo as an extension is added to Hunt Group 7, it no longer receives calls except through the filter of the hunt and distribution groups.

Now, if your port license card is not recgonized, or it is mislabeled and has more ports than it says it does, it WILL still grab incoming lines and transfer them to Ext. 10, but it will answer Intercom 777 with "the system is in test mode"
