Hi All
I have a remote site running off centralized mail and I want to send it to an auto attendant. My incoming call route sends the calls to a destination of "*80" which is a short code for the "voicemail node" feature with telephone number "AutoAttendant". When a call comes in or I dial *80 I get the message "You Have no new messages".

what have I done wrong?

Thank you in advance for you help

Mike

Do not use the shortcode in the ICR
Do it like this:

VM:AutoAttendant

ACA - Implement IP Office
ACS - Implement IP Office
ACA - Voice Services Management
______________
Women and cats can do as they please and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea!

I'll do that
so VM:AutoAttendant is my destination I assume? Is this correct?
Just so I'm sure.
the reason I've done it this way is that other sites are using this method.

thanks tlpeter

Do you have the shortcode in the voicemail setup (exact spelling)

What I have done is my ICR Destination is VM:AutoAttendant and I have a module called AutoAttendant

That won't work, rename the module to something else!! For some reason it does not like AutoAttendant call it just Auto or AAttend or something then it will work!!

ACS - IP Office Implement

I changed it to ChiAA and now it says "please enter your mailbox number

Make sure your module name is exact. with Caps and everything. Restart the services after you change it.

Ok. I just did that and there was the same result. I've change the name of the module twice and restarted the services as well. Still no joy!

-rename the module to something new

make a shortcode with the name AAttendant (or something similar) in the voicemail PRO and drag the module in there

change the shortcode in the IPO to go to

AAttendant
Voicemail Node
that way you reach the module through the shortcode portion of the voicemail and not through the module, kinda.

I'm doing that and I get "please enter your mailbox number"
I tried a method similar to that last night to the same result
Is there anything in particular I can look for in monitor?

not in monitor but if you enable "interact with desktop" in the services for the voicemail Pro service and have it run then you will see what info the voicemail gets.

It comes back saying "626 is not available to take your call etc"
I have no idea why it goes to 626.
Any other thoughts?

Your module is not good

Are you building it with windows vista perhaps ?
AutoAttendant is indeed not the best name to use :)
When you want to go to a module by the incoming call route you must use the VM:module name method and not a shortcode !

Thanks,
I was using ChiAA as the name of my module and I was using VM:ChiAA as the destination of my ICR. As a test I made the destination of my ICR extension 2334 at the main site and forwarded it unconditionally to VM:ChiAA and it's working. Not exactly the best solution but it buys me some time. I am really curious as to why this works and going directly to the module doesn't. Thoughts??
Thanks
Mike

Shortcode:

Code: *80
Feature: Voicemail Collect
Telephone Number: "ChiAA"

ICR Pointed at *80

Test Shortcode by dialling it from an internal phone.

Football is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

I always use the ICR for the incomming calls to VM. I have always used VM:Modulename. Such as VM:DayAA or VM:Timecheck.
