Ok I was changing the operator option. It was ringing to my extension 234 and I needed it to go to 221. I was able to change it. I then was looking to replace my extension with another direct line & extension. After moving around the options I backed out and updated. I then checked the operator from the main line and it went to 221 like I needed it to. I then checked everything else. Internally you can call 221 and get J and call 234 and get C which is what we want (those phones and voicemail). When you call the direct line for 221 you get 221 voice mail. When you call the main number and dial 221 it rings to 234 phone with 221 voicemail and when you call the main number and dial 234 it rings to 221 phone with 234 voicemail.

Please help I have been at this for 6hrs and have been working since 7am and it is now 2:15am with only a few hours break.

We have Nortel Meridian M7324 & M7310 phones. Not really sure what system other than that. I have been able to navigate pretty well in our system but this one I am sure I am overlooking it. Auto attendant answer first ring. You can then enter extension, 0 for operator, or # for dial by name. Thank you very much!

I posted this somewhere else and they said to post it under Norstar but I am having a hard time getting around this site (probably because I am tired and frustrated) Thank you very much in advance

For those lost:
Add the forum to your favs

Why have you not called in a tech? they can fix it in no time...however trying to assist you in a forum could take days.

You have not mentioned which models KSU and Vmail and both their software versions.

2 places to point 0
-In F983 under Table/1/ATDNT/2XX
-In F982 under ATDNT/2XX

As for mailboxes
-in F983/MBOX/CHANGE make sure 221 states Ext:221
-in F983/MBOX/CHANGE make sure 234 states Ext:234

You mention "replace my extension with another direct line & extension" but do not state what process you used.
Did your mean "I Changed DN 221 to 234" and if so....why?

I wanted to call a tech regarding this from the beginning but my boss did not want to spend the $250 they were going to charge to come out and do it. I was asked to research on how to make the change and do it. So that is what I did. Apparently I didn't do it enough. The mistake I made was I didn't copy the instructions and write the steps down as to what I did.

My extension does not have a direct line and we have a direct line and extension not being used so we wanted to make my phone that and then make that phone the other. If that made sense. I was able to get the Operator to ring at extension 221 like I wanted but then when I messed around with the other everything got messed up.

For now I appreciate your help but I am going to try and encourage my boss to have a tech come out. Thank you!

If in AA and dial 221 (not 0) does it go to 221?

Just curious what City/Country you are in....I want to move there so I can charge those rates too!
lol
