Hello,

I have a strange problem with our Call Pilot 150. We just setup new Verizon VOIP PRI T1 to our system. When I dail on main number I do get our auto attendant, and I can dial ext like 243, but when I try to dial 284, I get it is an invalid ext, which I know it is not. If I dial one of our POTS lines( which will be going away) I can dial 284 fine.

Also when I call into our main number, and do 2843 it will go to 243. It looks like the 8 is not being seen? I called Verizon and they told me they see the 284 being sent.

I'm not sure what is going on, anyone have a clue or need more info?

Thanks,

I know there were several patches since that revision. You may want to upgrade sw before blaming the CO. At least that way, you'll be able to tell them you've got Nortel's "latest and greatest" running on your end.

Maybe someone else here'll chime in with a specific patch.

I will work on that, (I have a call into our vedor) I have read around on tek-tips and looks like it might be a DTMF problem? If I read correctly there was a patch A7 that was to fix an issue with DTMF.

Also just was told that people try to call in via a analog phone line to our main number and it never picked up. I tested this with a analog phone and it didn't work. I was able to call on that POTS line that is still going to our CP without problem.

I can call in fine with a cell phone from Verizon, ATT, and T-mobile.

Thanks again,

To add on, I just tested again from the anolog phone to another number that is going directly to someone's desk phone in the office and that got through.

Since that by-passed the CP it looks like to be CP issue?

Just a little more info, we have 22 numbers coming from Verizon, 9 of those are in a hunt group for inbound calls. The other 13 are going directly to peoples desk phones.

Thanks again for the help

(btw, I'm not a phone person, I the Network Admin that got picked to take care of the phones)

What is KSU verion of software?

Do you have a DID with a digit 8 in it? does it work? if not in use then assign it to a DN and test, if it does not work then they are not passing 8.

I have a customer with a PRI on a MICS (7.0) and they have one customer that calls into the AA and gets the wrong extension or invalid extension. I swapped out the CP 150 and still the same problem. The CP is on the latest sw release. My customer was saying it was more than one of there customers calling in and getting the errors, but they now say its only the one customer. I had this CP in for about 8 months (working great) and then the trouble started. There customer must have gone to a VOIP PRI/T1. The other problem I am seeing with VOIP T1's, is if a mailbox has Off Prem setup, the cell phone gets the call from the CP100 and they try pressing 1 to get the msg and the vm box just keeps repeating to press 1 to retrieve the msg. DTMF problems with VOIP, yeah!

We had the same trouble a month ago with an ESI phone system, and a voip circuit through a channel bank.

After I upgraded software, and reprogrammed the system from scratch, the telco finally fixed the issue with a patch to their router.

Of course they wouldn't consider that it could have been their problem to begin with.

I would hope they would use the same software verison as our other site. We have the same equipment setup there as we have here (both for Verizon and our equipment), but they have a CP 150 with software 3.1 on it, instead of 2 as we have. They have no issues.

I'm able to call any number from our VOIP PRI/T1 that is going directly to a phone instead of AA.

Also had people say if they keep on trying the ext, sometimes they get in.

Curlycord, or phone system is on SP: 30BwE02 NAT, which I think is 6.0?? I'm not sure what you are asking about digit 8, our start number is 9589 to 9609 and we are only set to Rec'd the last three.

6.0 yes.

I meant assign DID 9589 (or 9598) to a set.
if the set rings then the PRI is passing 8 is my thought.

But why would the POTSs lines work.

What did they have before this VoIP? was it working? or just a few more POTs lines.

I suggest to upgrade the CP to 3.1, maybe even the MICS to 7.1? then you know your good and they bad.

I set 9598 to my set, and call from my cell phone, it rang to my desk with problems.

Before we had a few POTS line in, and just a T1 in. We swap out the T1 for the VOIP T1/PRI.

Before the VOIP was installed everything was working fine, no issues dialing any ext and so forth.

Thanks again,
