I am trying to setup my auto attendant.
When I dial the main number 4944444,I get the greeting
Press 1 for residential sales.
press 2 for Business sales.
press 3 for Credit department.
press 4 for Internet support.

When I press 1 for Residential sales it goes to Hunt group 8791 which has one member in the group.

What I need to happen is if the call is unanswered the
the call goes to mailbox 8845 with options to 1 leave a message 0 transfer to an operator.

Hi Loopretnav,

What you need to do is when you have configured mailbox 1 for Residential you would have entered the hunt group number in the extension box if this is 8845, you will then need to allocate a new mailbox 8845 and state dial 0 to be transfered to the operator or hold to leave a message.

It would have been better if you provided a few more details.

I am assuming for example that you want all of the choices to end up at a general mailbox 8845 not just option 1. If this is the case andy4uk's suggestion will not work.

I also need to assume that you have an embedded voicemail and not some other integration.

Next I must assume you have a 3300 because I have to pick something and 3300 is what I am most familiar with.

Next I must assume that you are using a menu node mailbox because that makes the most sense and not using single digit mailboxes as andy4uk has assumed.

While I'm at it I'll assume you'll understand that I'm going to wait for you to give us more information.

1.This is a 3300ICP with embedded voicemail.

2.When the caller hits company greeting and selects 1,
it should ring a telephone in Hunt group 8791 and if that call is not answered it should go to menu with the following options: press 1 to leave a message * to return to previous greeting & 0 for an operator.

3.When the caller hits company greeting and selects 2,
it should ring a telephone in Hunt group 8792 and if that call is not answered it should go to menu with the following options: press 1 to leave a message * to return to previous greeting & 0 for an operator.

4.When the caller hits company greeting and selects 3,
it should ring a telephone in Hunt group 8791 and if that call is not answered it should go to menu with the following options: press 1 to leave a message * to return to previous greeting & 0 for an operator.

OK, Much better.

Sorry but I still have a couple of questions though.

Are all the messages to end up in 1 mailbox or will you be using separate mailboxes for each choice?

You mentioned MB 8845 earlier, is this MB associated with a set?

Is the Dial 1 option essential or can the message say leave a message at the tone or dial 0 for assistance.

Lastly, how experienced are you with the 3300. Fair, good, or exceptional?

1. Each choice uses a seperate mailbox

2. MB 8845 is not associated with a set.

3. Dial 1 option is essential.

4. Experience is fair.

You have a couple of options.

The simplest would be to have mailboxes associated with the Huntgroup Pilot numbers. These mailboxes would then be set up as Menu Node Type's. The Menu Nodes would then be configured to dial 1 for MB XXXX and 0 for reception.

With your scenario, this would require a total of 8 mailboxes.

The second option would require advanced programming involving ACD Paths, Dial out of Queue, Rads and I don't recommend it unless you're very comfortable with ACD programming.

I set up a test for single digit MB 5.

Huntgroup Assignment
8845 member- 8850.

Voice mailbox configuration
MailBox 8845 Extension No 8845(This is set as Menu Node).

System Speed Call Assignment
S/C 8852 Actual No. 8845

I dial Main number 494XXXX and is connected to greeting.
I then select my test MB 5 and is transferred to 8850
If I don't answer call goes back to main greeting and not
to MB 8845.This should work.
Help!

Ok

Here is what I would do.
