Auto Attendant answers- extensions never ring

System partner ACS 40 with voice mail card
Auto attendant answers on second ring with "your party in unavailable....." system has 4 mail boxes all with greeting set up, Automated Attendant menu has been recorded but isnt being used.


Any help with be rewarded with small shrine placed next to phone system......
 
Ok, here's a little checklist..
1. Make sure ext 78,79 are programmed to group 7 (#505)
2. Make sure your lines are covered by hunt group7 (#206)
3. Make sure your extensions are covered by VM (#310)
4. Verify when you record your greeting it is saved
5. Remember with the small PC card, mailbox 1 is assigned to ext 10, 2 to 11, 3 to 12 and 4 to 13.

line 3 in fax line, I want to be able to use use this as in out bound extension but have direct dialed call be answered by fax.

Remote administrator software dials and connects - i never received a password prompt, messages states communincation with partner failed. but seems to stay connected. do i need to associate ext 76 with a certin hunt group? if so how?
 
Well, the easiest way to do that is to turn the ringer off for that line (fax) on all extensions except the extension the fax is connected to. From ext 10 or 11, FEATURE 00, Left intercom twice, right intercom once and enter each extension number. You will see the lines that are assigned to each extension light up, push that particular line till it is flashing fast. Not sure about your Remote Admin, never used it before, I program from the phone... Matt Wray

Also set the Auto Line Select for the FAX Extension to pick the FAX line first, then the other voice lines for outgoing. That way, on outbound Faxes, it sends out over the FAX line unless someone is talking on it from another extension; then it looks for a free voice line to send out on.

Normally, you would put Ext. 76 in Hunt Group 6 as the only member, because Partner Mail and Partner Mail VS does not let you transfer to 76, but they will let you transfer to 776. This is only needed if you are trying to connect without any user intervention.

If it connects, but does not prompt for the password, you have other issues with your PC and modem. Look back in the threads for a LONG discussion, and some possible solutions.
