IPO 406v2 4.1(9) with embedded voicemail

The customer changed their mind on having AA pick up first and now want it afte 6 rings.

In the DID assignment I switched the Destination to the Main hunt group but on fallback I do not see the AA listed. Only the hunt groups. When I go to hunt groups AA is not available for overflow or cover.

1. Where do you specify the AA as secondary?
2. Where do you specify after number of rings?

The manual is vague on this feature with this voicemail.

user in hunt group set call foward to short code which points at AA!

Overflow main group to group above

Create a group with the phones you want to ring in it and check voicemail on. Set the voicemail timer to 15 sec or so or to what ever value give you 6 ring.

In VM pro create a leave mail action for the group you created to go to the AA you want. It's very easy.

So

I should create another hunt group called <OverflowAA>
then create a user and assign to that hunt group with a forwarding shortcode? Am I understanding that correctly?

I am new to IP office, but doesn't that seem archaic? It almost seems like we are tricking the system vs programming it.

Would the user shortcode be *05 ?

You will find a lot of programming the IPOffice feels like youre tricking the system. The shortcode would be whatever points to the required AA, it goes in the "virtual users" forward unconditional number box.

ACS - IP Office Implement

create Hunt Group "OverflowAA" (make it anything but collective)

Add "Phantom" User to the OverflowAA

Make your overflow timer of the "Main" hunt group to 25 secs or whatever it takes for 6 rings. Add the "OverflowwAA" to the overflow group list.

Under the "Phantom" Users forwarding tab, click forward unconditional and put your short code you use for your auto attendant in there. Make sure you have hunt group calls selected.

test it by dialing the phantom users extension number and you should get the auto attendant. then dial the hunt group number and you should get the auto attendant.

I have it setup but I am unsure of the AA shortcode.
I have Embedded Voicemail and I have several shortcodes it appears for the AA.

In AA:

*8101 shows Morning
*8201 show afternoon
*8301 Shows evening
*8401 show Menu

In Short codes:
*81XX
Auto Attendant
"AA:"N".1"
0

I know in AA that is for the recording of each menu and greeting.

So is my AA shortcode *8001 or *8501? How do I determine?

the *81xx codes are for recording the aa messages

the aa name is the place you want calls to go,

e.g. MyAAMeeting

short code
*99
voicemail collect
AA:MyAAMeeting

I completed everything you mentioned above with the AA named as DaytimeAA.

Forward Unconditional
Forward number *99

In short codes I entered

*99
VoicemailCollect
AA:DaytimeAA

I also created user PhantomAA ext 299.

When I dial 299 there is dead air
When I dial *99 there is dead air

I thought maybe *9N may have caused a confusion so I tried a *80 with the same settings and still dead air.

The name is spelled correctly DaytimeAA exact.

I think it is something with the voicemail collect.

Should there be a space or " anywhere?

Ok I did some snooping on Embedded Voicemail;

1. It Appears the shortcode has to be a # instead of a *
2. But when you forward unconditional it will not let you use a # in front of the shortcode (in this case #80)
3. I created a shortcode:

80
AutoAttendant
AA:DaytimeAA

This works.
Dial 80 it goes to AutoAttendant
Dial Ext 299 (Phantom) whic has unconditional forward to 80 and this works.

In Hunt group 203 with the only member being 299.

I dial 203 and it just keeps ringing? Any suggestions?

i think i might have posted that in a past thread, i definately have had that problem. just create a number shortcode, replace the *99 with 888

hunt group has to be sequential, not ring all.

in forwarding for the user, set forward HUNT group calls also.

Hunt group is sequential
Foward Unconditional is checked
Forwad Hunt Group Calls is checked
Forward Internal Calls is checked

Still nothing.

Dial the extension direct and AA picks up
Dial the Hunt Group with that extension as the only one in there and nothing happens

Ok Figured it out:

Turns out I created 299 as the Phantom "User" I lef the extension blank since there was no phone attached.

IPO recognizes the user when you dial the 299 and it will forward the calls

But when you put it in the Hunt Group 203 it will not do anything.

I went and added a VOIP extension 299 and now the Hunt Group recognizes it. Don't understand why you can dial direct but it appears their is a quark with Users vs Extension depending on what you are doing.

Anyways it is working now. Thanks for all your help!
