Here's the set up.... t1 service, DID's, 16channels.
Main # mapped to calling grp, rings several phones.
Problem: Customer wants main # to be answered by auto att'd as back-up.
I realize my hands are tied because of DID service on t1.
I could tell the customer to remove DID service on some channels and have the Main # come in as regular trunks on the t1.
But is there any other solutions without having to change service?

Hmmm, you could have AA1 answer immediatly, say "Thank you for calling xyz co., please hold", 0/timeout transfers to the calling group. Then, with Transfer Return Extension and Transfer Return Rings, the call returns to Voice Mail, with the Calling Group's voice mail pointed to AA2.
