Auto Arrange Won't, Even After Resetting Folder Options

Documents will no longer Auto Arrange in my folders and Windows no longer remembers the size that windows were when they are closed.

- I have tried removing recently installed programs, searching the registry for key words (in order to modify any recognizable values), and also resetting the folder options. - Nothing works!

Is this just another curse of Windows that you cannot do anything about until they condescend to release a patch, or is there a cure? =?

It's got to do with Active desktop, and "view as web page".
Undo any settings you've made, then restart, then reset them. Cheers,
