Hello,

I am battling a recent out break of user getting C022 error when they first open thier GroupWise Clients. I have disabled the auto archive to prevent this error but they also can not access thier archive. We are running GW 6.02 (getting ready to migrate to 6.5)and using a 6.0.4 client. I have run a analyze/fix for struction, index, and contence but the error is still coming up. I saw someone said to rebuild the archive. How do you rebuild an archive? I am a novice with GW and could really use alittle help.

Thanks!

hi, Dear Richinstpete
First of all, I am a novice with GW as well. But I wonder why don't u download the GW6.5 PDF from Novell.com. There is a file which name is "gw65_admin.pdf" may help u about the rebuild an archive.
Just some suggestion. Please don't get mad for my answer. Wish luck be with u.

If you have a current backup of the users db & archive <dir> try this. It is in essence a rebuild of the GW Archive. I have tried this myself and it does work in a few cases. Just remember this is a REBUILD, not an Analyze/Fix operation.

From the GW Client hold down the Ctrl+Shift key and select Open Archive under File. You should get a message to the affect "GroupWise has encountered a problem w/your mailbox. GroupWise can rebuild your mailbox to avoid further problems". At this point you can click on YES to start the rebuild. After the process completes there will be a todaysdatechk.txt file created in the root of the archive <dir>.

Thanks Farout I performed those instructions and found that chk file. Not sure what the info inside means, if anything. But at least it looks like it did something. I ran it on my account just to see how long it takes.

This is the info from the chk.

Job [2] added into GWCheck database

Job [4] added into GWCheck database
GWCheck database pathname: [\\Stpfs1msc\MSCARCH\oftdqarc\ngwcheck.db]

I see it removing and adding to the .db but tit doesn't state what it is adding or removing. I will test this with
a user having problems and see if it resolves the issues.

Thanks again [thumbsup2]
