I have a call center here, and I would like to able to setup an auto-anwser on there phone: Is it possible with ipoffice, that instead of the normal ring, to have a tone in the headphone with a small 3 sec wrap-up?
Thanks, for the anwser, but what is Avaya DT or TT, by DT do you mean Digital Phone? I have a 6416D+M, does the headset will be compatible with my phone. Do you sugges any brand in particular?
Avaya uses two types af digital handsets, the Digital Terminal, usually referred to as 20XX ad the Digital Stations, that is the 24xx, 44xx and the 64xx range.
Both types uses different type os line cards and are not compatible.
About the function you would like, Avaya calls it "Force Feed" on the INDeX platform, taht's were the DT range is coming from. I don't know if this is possible at all on IP Office, at least i could not find a way to do it.
Forcefeed can be set on the 20xx/DT series phones as described
I am not sure if a similar setting is available on the 6400 series handsets.
if it can be sett it will probably need some palying arround with the user ShortCode *RINNGER this contains a number of variables for phone features that are not accessable through the manager else where
on the DT in controls things like ring tone (3 diferent components) ring volume, handset volume, speaker Volume, internal auto ans, external auto ans callfree etc.
Propably because there is no standard for it yet. I mean that Avaya does not support the features and they may change per softwarelevel.
If Avaya does document these features then they have to stick to them.
All these phones come from different sources, with different historys, hardware, fireware and methods of operation.
Both these ranges of phones, the DS's and DT's were originally designed for systems other than the IP Office.
It would be lovely if they all worked the same but the split between which functions are driven/stored by the phone and which by the switch varies.
And then bring in the many that are third-party designs with an Avaya badge - especially in the wireless arena.
If Avaya was starting from scratch it might be better, but currently the game is to support the ever expanding family of phones despite their differences. So the collection, and the differences in configuration, will only continue to grow for a good few years yet.
