Hello Everyone,
I have a bit of a unique situation here.
Retirement home with IPO Server Rel 11.1, 2 expansions units and we are using VMPro. Dialtone is 10 analog trunks with only the main phone number advertised.
95% of the residents have digital 1408 sets and the other 5% have analog voice activated phones. ( The voice activated phones are not very good and even though they promote themselves for being excellent for assisted care facilities, they are not and don't take into account that generally seniors are soft spoken. This is a different story altogether.)
They would like to swap the analog phones out with 1408 digital but activate an auto answer. I know Avaya only offers internal auto answer as a feature and do not have an external auto answer.
The retirement home has all incoming calls go to Auto Attendant. They also have a switchboard operator from 8am to 11pm.
My question to everyone is, has anyone come up with a work around to allow external auto answer ? I will also take other ideas if you have them.
At the moment, the plan is to take the analog phones, re-wire the microphone and leave it external outside the telephone casing.
