Hi guys,

I'm building a database with a pretty standard approval workflow, and I'm having trouble with the access. I have an author field on the form which contains the required value depending on the status of the workflow, and yet I cannot get it to work correctly!

I have placed a fictional person known as "CRM Test" in the Domino Directory, and in the ACL of my database as an Author, and even though his name appears in the "Authors" field (called fdSupAccess) on my documents, he can't edit the document! Why not?!

Also, I tried to run an agent on behalf of me, just as a test, and yet it seemed to have no effect - "CRM Test" was told that he cannot change to edit mode when the agent was called. Surely if the agent is running on behalf of me, and I'm an Editor, the agent should be able to modify the document, no?!

Please come back to me, with any ideas whatsoever. My deadline for this was last week, and I'm going on holiday in a few hours! Looks like a nice week of working from home is coming up... :)

I would try the following: Upgrade your test user to "Manager", test, and back him down as you go to see where the issue is. I would also sign the DB with your ID from the Domino Admin. Then I would try the agent again. Is it a Private Agent or Scheduled? You can also enable it to run from the Action Menu on demand. I have had some problems with Scheduling agents, so this usually helped with the problem. You can also run the "tell amgr sched" to see if it's scheduled to run. Hope this helps.

Rgds,

John
