Authorization Codes/Account 1

I have a large car rental place that we installed an old Merlin Legend system in that they had at cooperate.

We re-initialized the system and programmed it. The customer wanted every phone completely restricted, unless a manager put in an account code, then they can dial out to where ever.

We added every extension into Extensions -> Account, and then gave the managers authorization codes into extensions -> Authorizations codes. This all works, but if you go to one of the phones and press account code, and press 9#, you can then press 9 and get an outside line. It's like it overides the account code? What's wrong here? What's up with this?

Account codes just pop out in the SMDR for tracking purposes, they don't actually restrict extensions.

What I would do is restrict the extensions through ARS restriction (set the extensions to 2, perhaps make a route for local and toll free with FRL of 2)

Then make some adjunct extensions with a FRL of 3. Give them "authorization codes". Then the managers would press #80-(authorization code)-#, then 9 and the telephone number. For that particular call, the authorization code makes that physical extension "become" the adjunct extension, which is not restricted.

It didn't work. If I ARS restrict a phone, that's the ARS level of that phone. The managers phones authorization code with a higher ARS doesn't over ride.

What do I do?? They want to restrict phones and then over ride with access codes? I'm I doing something wrong? Do I have to tell them that it just can't be done this way?
