Auth codes (that you receive on the sheet) are generated into keycodes that are applied to your system. Those keycodes are specific to the ID of your system and unlock whatever features the auth codes are for (such as 32 mailboxes, 8 IP trunks).
You don't need a keycode for CDR, but you will most likely want a package that takes that raw data and makes it easily understandable/presentable.
I meant the feature which allows you to make external (trunk) calls from any phone regardless of the restrictions on it. On the Nortel Meridian series PABXs we call them authorization codes and the CDR records can be captured based on authorization codes and reports generated for departmental monthly bills.
What sort of CDR package are you talking about to enhance the reports. Is it in-built or a 3rd party? If it is in-built, do I have to pay extra for that?
That would be a COS password (invoked by Feature 68). You build a COS password in the BCM and assign that password to a restriction filter which has different rules.
That being said - I'm not sure if COS info is passed into the CDR records on a BCM or not. I've never tried it.
The packages are third party. RSI software makes a decent CDR package - there are others out there that work with the BCM as well.
Thanks for your help. I now know that I can achieve same with COS passwords, but need to know if calls made with COS passwords would be captured in CDR to enable us track the person who made that call.
