If you get the error "Attempt to set time which differs by more than 12 hours aborted"
and your time is not 12 hours wrong then the problem will be that the time is more wrong than the number of seconds set in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters\MaxAllowedClockErrInSecs
This is 1 by default. For some reason an error of "Attempt to set time which differs by more than the permited diference aborted" was far too hard to type at microsoft.
