Anyone using PDF to deliver online help as part of an application? If so, how are you authoring and how are you handling context sensitivity? TIA!

For a cross-platform application, seems like it would provide a stable platform, assuming you could launch a viewer positioned to a specific page. has text searching, TOC -- why do you feel it's a poor mechanism? Seems more feature-rich with fewer cross-platform issues...

HTML doesn't have cross-platfrom issues. You can launch to a specific page, but you have to know WHICH page to launch to. That requires an external index, or you have to methodically create all of the bookmarks. It would simply be a lot more work compared to HTML.
