I have created a subsite from the top-level website. In order to create access to the site I am required to add the permissions of the users on both the top level site and the subsite created. If this is not done, the user is allowed into the site but is prompted for their username and password over and over for each action they perform within the subsite. I would like to find a solution for this because the user should not have access to the top-level website. I do not have this problem when creating a meeting workspace or a document workspace. Please help me.

Hello,

When you create a subsite, you chose if the permissions should be inherited from the parent site or have it's unique permissions.

If users of your subsite should not have access to the top-level website you will have to chose unique permissions on your susbsite, and add all the users you want to be able to access the site. If you chose unique permissions these users do not need access to the top-level website.

I would suggest you tell your users to add the web address in their Local Intranet Zone in the browser, that can help when users are being prompted for username and password on a site they have access to.

Regards,
Thomas
