I thought I postred this the other day but I don't see it. Here goes again:
Whenever my intranet users hit any website internally using the FQDN of the web server they get a prompt for their credentials. Once inputted they get in. If they use only the hostname they do not get prompted and get right in. I've tried both Windows Authentication on and off in IE but get the same results. The servers are IIS 6 with Windows Authentication only. Also, the domain is a single lable domain so when using FQDN it would be like Any idea how to fix this? The reason I ask is that some users get prompted for credentials regardless and I am thinking IE is appending the .domain.
