I am trying to configure a refurbished 9608G phone. I have entered the network settings and the phone seems to download some files, etc. It tells me to log in but always returns with "authentication error press log in to continue". In searching past forums, I'm not finding much...

I have deleted and recreated the same and different users/extension numbers. I have a code in the Extension, User, and Telephony/Supervisor/Login fields. I can log into the user account at a different phone. On this phone, I cannot log into an existing extension/user that is working elsewhere. I have cleared the settings in the phone. I have rebooted the IPO. Any suggestions?

1. Press "Login"
2. Enter the extension number, then OK (or #)
3. Enter the login code, which was entered under User>(Your Ext)>Telephony>Supervisor Settings>Login Code in Manager, then OK (or #)

Please remember... If it's not the way that YOU would do it, that does not necessarily mean it's wrong. EVERYONE knows SOMETHING that you do not.

I have reset the login code there and continue to get the same result.

Solution: under System/LAN1/VoIP there is a setting for H.323 Signal over TLS. To login a new 96xx phone, this must be disabled. I disabled that and the extension was able to log in. Previous 96xx phones worked all along but they were in place when the system was upgraded to R11.
