Auth Codes to block/allow outgoing calls

A client of mine needs a phone in a common area to be setup to block all outgoing calls unless an authorization code is entered.

I changed the registry to have the Auth Code fields show up in Manager, created an Auth Code with the password the client chose and edited the User > Telephony > Supervisor Settings to Force Auth Code.

When I attempt to make an outgoing call from this extension, I get one tone and then the screen flashes "ENTER AUTH CODE", I enter the password I created in the Auth Code but I just hear one more tone and then the call disconnects at :16 on every attempt.

I feel like the Auth Code is not properly linked to the user (there is also a small red X going through the Auth Code when I view it in the menu pane on the left side of Manager) or that I need to make a different change in the Supervisor Settings in the User. Any help is appreciated!

do you use auth code and # ?
you can also give it a Auth code button and then they can probably make calls easier, you press the button enter the code and # or the "done" button then you get a dial tone then dial 9 and the number.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

I had tried pressing # after the code and nothing happened, I will try adding the auth code button.

Still no dice, I feel like I'm missing a step.

What is connecting the authorization code to the short code? Is the short code feature suppose to be 'Set Authorization Code'?

I cannot seem to get the system to respond to any type of password attempt at the "ENTER AUTH CODE" screen.

If I enter the 4-digit Auth Code I set up the phone will just sit there. If I press # after entering the code the password field will become blank.

I figured it out, in the short code for outbound calls the "Force Auth Code" field was checked. Once I unchecked that everything worked properly.
