make sure that there are no new messages in the mailbox first. Then leave a test message to see if it lights. If there was a previous new message the system thinks it already lit the light.
Late addition:
I've got an aut-msg-wt button for a VDN working (G3 V13 with Intuity Audix 5.1).
Phoneguy55 is right, it won't light if there are messages already waiting, you need to clear and test again.
Set up VM box (same as the vdn) On VDN page 2, set the Audix name. On the station, add the Aut-msg-wt button with the VM ext, works for me.
Avaya docs says can be a VDN but can't be a virtual ext.
About to test on a G3 V11 with Intuity Audix.
fbs003 - thanks for that post. I had an aut-msg-wt indicator setup on cm2.2, Intuity Audix 5.1 this way:
2800 is a vdn setup as a main line to dump calls into a vector for distribution using a hunt group. I setup a day mailbox if no agents are available and used subscriber x2800. I tried putting an aut-msg-wt button for x2800 on all agents phones, but it wasn't working when messages were being left. As it turns out, fbs003 was correct - there were already messages in the vm box. I deleted all the messages in the vm box and then left another new message and voila! The button shaded.
