Hi All,

Is there any sure way of removing the Aurora Spyware? I have followed all steps listed here. I have run all the spyware programs listed in this forum. I have researched google and tried all steps. I have a system that the only spyware present is Aurora. I installed the Microsoft Anti-Spyware. I run this and each scan produces the Aurora. I then reboot, rerun the scan and it is there again. I have tried removing entries from the registry (I.E, did a search for Aurora and nail.exe) and again after each reboot it appears again. Is there any hope or do I need to wipe this system?

Thanks for your time.

Pechenegs,

Ran the mypctuneup uninstaller. So far it seemed to work. I just tried the Microsoft Spyware scan twice (rebooted after each scan) and the scan did not detect Aurora. I don't want to get too excited because I have seen this reappear before. I will keep an eye on it for a couple of days but I think this may have nailed it (no pun intended).

Thanks much to you and to Erik for the links.

you should post a hijack this log to make sure there isn't anything else in there?

Download hijack this from the link below. Please do this. Click here:

to download HijackThis. Click scan and save a logfile, then post it here so
we can take a look at it for you. Don't click fix on anything in hijack this
as most of the files are legitimate.

Hi same problem with nail.exe. The uninstaller from mypctuneup only downloads as a 0kb file? Ran hijackthis and came up with the following log file. Any help would be great.

You also need to download Spybot S&D 1.4 and perhaps MS Antispyware. Get them at and go to the downloads page.

Also, you really need to download the tool at:

Do it from another PC if you have to and then copy it to the infected PC. This is the best way to "nail" Nail.exe Aurora

Hope this helps,

Erik

If that doesn't work, download the nail.exe.fix and run ewido!
