I have a computer at home that I use only for a VPN connection to my office. It works fine except just after I make my VPN connection, it will reboot without any warning. It nevers does this otherwise and it always happens within 30 seconds of making this connection. After I make the connection, I have been opening up the Task Manager and watching the processes that are active. Within a few seconds of making the connection, aupdate.exe appears near the top of the processes list. If I highlight aupdate.exe and end the process, it doesn't seem to reboot. If I leave it alone, it seems to always reboot. I have run virus check, Spybot, Adaware, and Pest Patrol on this machine. Could aupdate.exe be the cause of my problems? Is this some sort of undetectable virus? Or is aupdate.exe probably not causing my problem? I did a search for aupdate.exe on my PC and found two files by that name - one in Symantec's directory (for live update) and the other in my remote access connection program directory. I deleted the latter one, but it recreated itself the next time I made a connection. Any help would be appreciated.
