Hi all,

I have create a form that will receive input from a scanner. i want the form to auto tab to the next control after a scan. I have read about using the auto-tab property along with the input mask, but my problem is that the data being entered is not necessarily uniform. Is there a way to set up a dynamic input mask?

Example, the first control will be a job code. This code can be something like SDP-100090-222 or SE10232. As soon as that is scanned, I want it to advance to the next control. I don't know how to create a mask that will be satisfied by different types and lengths of entries. Any other way to auto-tab?

Thanks in advance. This is Access 2003, btw.

Couldn't the scanner send a special termination character ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

That was my first thought as well, and I am not sure that is possible or not. I could try that route, but I want to see if I can do it on the form as well. Might just use a timer or something
