I am about to fling this system out of the window... I have an Audix Map 5p and a Merlin Magix R3 system that I have integrated. The Audix is working fine except that all incoming calls from the outside are being sent to extension 0000(non-existent) then routed to the operator and finally transferred from the operator to the rest of the office... Any ideas on where to start with this? I have tried to find out what could be causing this and have found nothing... Thanks so much!

HOw do you want to route calls??

To an operator or an auto attendant??

If an operator:
Take the pools out of the cover group and they'll go to the DLC if the trunks are on the phone.

If an Auto Attendant:
Place the pools in the cover group and set up a the route table. A easier way also is to assign all the trunks to a virtual ext., set up a mailbox for it, set the MB up as an auto attendant and go to work from there.

I found a coverage group that still had the lines assigned to it. I removed those and now when you call, the Audix does not pick up right away with the extension 0000 message. There are 5 seconds of dead air where you wonder if you are connected and then it says welcome to Audix. This is not much better... I appreciate your help, any other ideas?

Well, where do you want the calls to go to?? Do you want them to go to the auto attendant or the operator.

Sorry about that... I want all of the calls to go to the operator.

make sure your lines are not assigned and set to ring at any of the voice mail ports. also make sure that they are not assigned to the lines/trunks under your group calling. make sure they are assigned to the console.

We are in key mode here if that helps with the troubleshooting. We want the calls to ring at all phoens but if no one answers within four rings for the auto attendant to pick up. The calls are coming in,being answered after about 5 seconds of dead air by the Audix system which allows you to dial the extension if you know it to reach an internal number. Any ideas for what could be causing this in key mode? Thanks!

Ok, here's the deal.

No lines can be assigned to your voice mail hunt group (extensions, group calling, line/trunks)

Set up the group cover to be 30 for the voice mail calling group. (extensions, group calling, calling group)

All lines have to be on the phones and set to ring immediatly.

When the system is in key mode, and you want to do a delay ring, the system will default lines to the operator mailbox. Set the operators mailbox up to be an auto attendant in the audix.

Make sure the cover delay on the operators ext. is set for the proper amount of rings and make sure that

Make sure all the extensions, expecially the operator, are assign to group cover 30. (Extensions, group cover, 30)

Killbox, I really appreciate all of your help. I went and reviewed all of the settings and they are as you have suggested they should be... Where do you set the delay for the operators extension? That I could not find in the audix. Thanks!

To set the amount of rings for the operators ext. is not in the VM, but in the system. Extensions, cover delay, etc.

this was not the problem... In case it can help anyone else;the problem was that the voicemail ports needed to be set to no ring. The rest of my setup was fine. They were intercepting every call at the first ring and it took quite a while to figure out what was going on... I appreciate everybody's help. It is running in production now...
