Phone system merlin legen rel. 7 and intuity audix 4.4.

How would you change the number of rings before the auto attendant answers outside calls? Right now it is 1. I want to increase this number so that I can have the receptionist answer incoming calls and when she doesn't it will go to the auto attendant.

If not already done so, you will need to create a calling group to handle the C.O. lines you want covered by the AA. First, go to Extensions> More> Grp Calling > Line/Pool, Enter extension number of voice mail group (usually 770) and "delete" any lines and or pools you want to have delayed coverage on. Then Exit/Back to main menu.

Next go to Extensions> More> Grp Calling> Line/Pool and enter an unused Group Number (i.e. 771), and "add" any lines and or pools you want to have delayed coverage on. Then Exit/Back to main menu.

Finally, go to Extensions> More> Grp Calling> Overflow- Enter the group calling number you created in step two (i.e. 771), Enter the Voice Mail calling Group (i.e. 770) select Number Based Overflow and change current setting to '99' > Enter, select Time Based Overflow, change current setting to number of seconds (0-900) before the AA answers (allow 3 to 4 seconds for each ring, you will probably have to tweak this setting). (If you have assigned the caller ID ring delay, remember to take the two rings of this feature into account).
