Auditing printers - how????

Ok, I tried and failed misserably, I know this is something EXTREMELY esy to do.. how thew heck do you set-up and then view auditing policys of successful print jobs to specific printers on your network? I tried it, set-up the audit policy on the specific printer (no brainer) then as requested from the server to enable policies (local or domain wide) I tried local, and I know I have no domain policies enabled, unless there is a default policy which is overriding it due to the policy heierarcy.

Can someone throw a few tips at me... all I want to do it see successful jobs sent to printers...
