Hello,

I've set up the auditing facility and had it running. It was working perfectly then I checked it a week later and it was in the default state (off). Also the file location had changed back to /tmp and the size had changed back to 50000. The _default mask I had setup still existed.

I turned it back on and then changed everything back. It was working fine and then 4 days later back to default again.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Thanks,

Jack

Hi,

It seems to me that your audit config file is not setup properly. Edit configuration file existing in the location $INFORMIXDIR/aaodir/adtcfg with proper values. Default values are:

ADTMODE 0 # Auditing mode
ADTPATH /tmp # Directory where audit trails will be written by OnLine
ADTSIZE 50000 # Maximum size of any single audit trail file

Ignore files $INFORMIXDIR/aaodir/adtcfg.0 or $INFORMIXDIR/aaodir/adtcfg.1 you may delete these files if not needed. These files are copy of the original aftcfg file with updated values, that means they contain the values that's been changed very last time.

Shriyan
It is better to desire the thing we desire than to have the thing we desire.

Also, I noticed if you use onaudit command to setup auditing, the config values are not permanent and when the database is downed and restarted the values return to ADTMODE 0.

I guess that means you have to edit the onconfig file manually to make them perm? Not sure because I have not got past the testing phase of using the audit facility.

Thanks for the reply. This is exactly what's happening.
