I am a ReportSmith beginner, trying to write a report that shows an "Audit Trail" of changes for a particular period. I am able to retrieve "before" and "after" data, but I am only getting changes in the most current row, rather than all changes for a particular period. For example, if an employee were to go on leave, return from leave, and receive a promotion within a specific period, the report is only showing the last row "promotion," when I want all 3 changes. Any help? Thanks.

When you created the report you used "Effective Dating". You could turn "Effective Dating" off for the entire report or just for one table. If you turn it off for the report it could mess up linked code tables (Like Job Code). You may want to just turn it off for the Job table. The best way to do that is to go to Selections and delete the Job's Effective Date selection critera.

If you link in a code table make sure you don't MAX Effective Date it. If you do you could have an old Job record with a NEW code table entry. What I mean is the Job record could be 4 yrs old and the code record could have been changed last week. Most of the time this is not a big problem but it could be a problem.
