Hi,

I am ussing BOE XI R2 which we have had set up for a few months now.

We want to set up the audit database so we can measure failed instances.

Do we need to do a reinstall of BOE XI to do this or is there another way without having to reinstall?

Thanks

You don't need to reinstall anything.

Via the Central Configuration Manager, there is a button to specify the Data Source for your Audit Database.

You need to:
1. Create an empty shell of a database (Call it something like BOEXIAudit) in SQL Server or an other supported rdbms (check the BOE XI R2 platforms.txt document for supported platforms). This will be the Audit Database.
2. Create a System DSN data source (Call it something like BOEXIAudit) pointing to this new BOEAudit database.
3. Via the Central Configuration Manager stop the CMS, configure the Audit Database via the Specify Audit Datasource button to use the newly created System DSN.
4. Turn on the required auditing features within the Central Management Console, Servers screen.

You also have to be running BOE-XI (PREMIUM) if you want to use AUDIT, it is not part of the BOE-XI (PROFESSIONAL) license.

Hi,
It has been added now to Professional..Contact your support rep for details on how to get the new license key..

( assumes a currently active support agreement)
