Is it possible to configure an MP-114 with the stand alone survivability feature, using avaya 9620 phones?

Here's the scenario... we have a main office with a newly setup IP Office running v8.0 software. We have a branch office that will be connected via VPN. For the branch office we've purchased the MP-114, some 9620 phones, and there will be two POTS lines connected to the MP-114 for local outbound calling. At least this is the way it was sold to us.

I would also very much like this branch office to be able to continue to make calls if that VPN connection to the main site goes down. Vendor is saying it can't be done, I'm not buying it. I get the feeling they just don't know what they're doing with the AudioCodes products.

Thank you, I have seen that document. The only thing I question is this white paper is using Avaya Communication Manager. I assume this is a different Avaya product than IP Office, but could IP Office be configured similarly?

Not that I know of, the Mitel 5000 would have been a better fit here (sorry for swearing in the IP Office forum) :)

I have never tried it but I think it is possible. CM is not that different as IP Office in respect to this kind of features.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

You could try to play with the SIG option in the 9620, press Mute, craft # look up the SIG option then try to register them on SIP to the MP124 register them. The put them back to H323 and register them to the IPO. If the VPN goes down they need to login using the mute craft # and change the SIG option.

Or put in a SET SIG 2 (the 2 could be a 1 for SIP)
in the 46xxsettings.txt

But i've never tried it so it could be that it won't work at all.

Hi Sjbradbury,

Have you tried putting fax on the MP114?

My scenario is just like yours, I have a IPO 500 Rlse 8.0 at the Main Site and need to put fax at the remote site. Will this work?
For CM,yes, already tried it but with IPO, never seen write-ups yet...

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks and regards,

The MP114 work for fax with t38. I've setup 20 or more and also on older version of the IPO.

Hi Bas1234,

Thanks for replying and that's good to hear. By the way, if I will install MP114, is this correct, I need to buy the SIP Trunk license and do I need to buy the SIP endpoint license for the Fax or for the analog phone?I'm quite confused.

Thanks again.

Buy 1 SIP endpoint license per port your using, so if you want them all to work you need 4x SIP endpoint license.
