Hi,

I didn't know where to post this because I didn't see a AudioCodes forum here.

The setup:

My company has a AudioCodes Gateway (Mediant-1000). We also have the PABX/Nortel. We have extensions 5xx and 1xx. 5xx are Lync phone extensions whereas 1xx are phone Nortel extensions. All external (E1) phone calls run through the AudioCodes, which should decide where a call should go. Calling 3040000 will go to "reception" (forwarded 0000 -> 506). People can be reached directly with their Nortel extension, for instance 3040148.

The current issue:

For some odd reason, all calls are diverted/forwarded/routed to reception (506). If I phone 3040148 it will not even ring on that persons phone, it will go straight to 506. There, the receptionist will then forward the call to 148, but it doesn't end there ! Instead of ringing on 148, it will ring on 170 which is the receptionist Nortel phone. From there ,the call is manually forwarded to 148 and it goes through. This happens when you dial any 1xx number (3040123,3040148 etc). Nortel to Nortel within the company works like a charm.

The changes:

This started happening on 18/05/2016. Recent (13/05/2016) changes were : LD 49 CHG IDC 0 1 0123 520.

The question:

Can the Nortel system have an issue or is the AudioCodes gateway the culprit ? Or the Lync ? What could cause such an issue ?
To my understanding and lack of knowledge on these other systems, I would assume that it cannot be the Nortel, since direct internal calling works fine. When reception is able to direct calls from Nortel to Nortel, then there should not be an issue with the Nortel.

example (when it was working) :
371569 : DIAL : 3040148 -> AUDIOCODES : DIRECT : 148 -> 148 RING -> 148 PICKUP
135: DIAL : 148 -> ??? : ??? : 148 -> 148 RING -> 148 PICKUP

example (now) :
371569 : DIAL : 3040148 -> AUDIOCODES : DIRECT : 506 -> 506 RING -> 506 PICKUP -> 506 DIRECT : 148 -> 170 RING -> 170 PICKUP -> 170 DIRECT : 148 -> 148 RING -> 148 PICKUP
172: DIAL : 148 -> ??? : ??? : 148 -> 148 RING -> 148 PICKUP

[sad]

was thinking to maybe see logs of what happened to these calls. Important to me are timestamps, the incoming number, the destination number and maybe if a call is forwarded/diverted/relayed/directed. Something like :

-> SYS : OPEN -> time(201605191510) : source(8104236) : destination(3040148) -> SYS : OK -> SYS : CALL : 0148 -> 148 RING -> 148 PICKUP : CALL ESTABLISHED : time(20160519151442) -> 148 HANGUP: CALL ENDED: time(20160519151619) -> SYS : CLOSE -> time(20160519151620)
