The Volume for the voicemails are very loud and distorted on my system (ACS Release 7 with PC Card Large). Could this be a defective card or is there a way to turn down the level of the audio?

I have never experienced this on any version of Partner Mail so I must ask you if you know how to make Handset, Ringer and Speakerphone volume adjustments? While the handset is off-hook, use the volume up/down bar to adjust the volume. It will also be accompanyied by a bar graph on the LCD display. With the handset on the cradle, touch the bar to adjust the ringer volume. With the speakerphone on, use the bar to adjust the volume. There are three seperate settings, including a headset via the handset volume. After a system reset or the Telephone is disconnected/connected, the volumes revert back to low.

WikiTech summed up the adjustments that can be made. There is no volume control for the voicemail system. Is the distortion being heard by the caller, the local user or both?

I've had Partner Euro I and Merlin 4400 series telephones develop a "gritty" sound through the speaker phone. It sounds similar to overdriving the preamplifier section of a PA system, but keeping the master volume control at a comfortable level. It makes dial tone sound "fuzzy" and somewhat distorts ringback and voice.
