I need some information regarding windows audio service stopping and having to be manually restarted for sound to work. Some background on the issue problems with audio occurred after a virus was detected and removed, various other issues led us to reformat and restore to factory specs. After reformat PC ran very well. PC delivered to customer a couple of weeks later problem started again. Other issues noted, Windows does not pop up and ask “what do you want to do with this” dialog when a CD or camera card is inserted. Also internet history shows some questionable sites that have been visited, questionable sites were also noted after the problem occurred originally.

I suggest you install Spybot & Teatimer and immunise the system as well as scanning. That may stop those and other sites in from being visited in future.

You could add 127.0.0.1 questionable site records to the hosts file as an added precaution.

i.e.
127.0.0.1
in the hosts file would block google and return a 404 error.

Just my 2 cents worth.
