audio recording using director 8.5???

I have an idea for an application and am wondering if anyone has ever seen or known if director 8.5 is able to somehow allow an end user to 'record' an audio message.

For this application, I'd want to try create an automated function to take the recorded audio, possibly convert to mp3 and upload to the web
