Audio problems with XP

We have a cd that plays quicktime movies. Under Win98, it works fine, but on XP systems, the audio and video becomes unsynchronized, and when there is audio only, it skips words periodically.

I've downloaded the latest Quicktime and it has the same problems.

Any suggestions?

I have Quicktime and XP. I got no sound at all, just video with Quicktime. I went to Microsoft and updated XP, then reinstalled Quicktime, and now it works. I'm not sure why, but if it works, WTF!
