Hi,

I've recently upgraded to RH 7.0 so that I now have a win98/RH 7.0 dual boot system. I have been gradually switching to the Linux desktop as my desktop of choice. I now only need win98 for one thing: I have a huge db of cd's ripped into Real Jukebox in Real format.

My problem is this: Firstly can I convert my real files to anything else, I've searched everywhere for a utility to do this but I can only find rumours or in the case of Streambox, the functionality withdrawn under threat of legal action from Real :-( . Secondly is there any decent Jukebox type software available for Linux?

Any help to rid the world of a windows desktop would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Realplayer does exist for linux, I just forget where to get it, try searching around on real.com [sig]<p>Karl<br><a href=mailto:kb244@kb244.com>kb244@kb244.com</a><br><a href= </a><br>Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)<br>

RealPlayer does indeed exist for Linux, but it is the organisational capabilities of RealJukebox I need, which doesn't exist for Linux :( I have discovered similar tools for Linux but they don't handle the Real format :(, Do I want too much?

Cheers

well heres the problem, unlike Mpegs and Avis, RealMedia is is not a standard, also the file type is copyrighted to Real.com, so they would be the only people to have encoders, or decoders, it wont be something you can grab off the net. as far as audio adjustments like you mentioned, there should be a tool to do the same for the wave stream in general rather than trying to alter the file itself.
