audio off in prem. 5.1

I am using adobe premiere on 2 G4's in my high school classroom. I am having problems with the sound. The shorter the capture from the digital camera (sony), the less likely that there is sound problems. If the clip is over a minute or two the sound is off. Are there any good resources for help with premiere besides what comes with the software? HELP!

Could have somethin' to do with sound interleave(Output Options)... You could try pushing it down to 1 frame.
You don't give us a lot of details... Capture card, version of Premiere, general set-up etc...
