Hello,

I have a Win NT Workstation4, SP4 computer that is not playing audio (wave) files or any sound files.

In the Control Panel under Sounds, the event sounds are highlighted and the sound preview plays the sound file, but no sound is heard.

I have installed the Creative Ensoniq Audio PCI CD for my sound card, but still no sound. I have swapped sound cards with a computer, where the sound works, but still no sound (& cables are plugged in right).

Does the problem have to do with the NT system itself? What must I do to enable the sound? Can you please be specific?

Thank you for your help.

Speakers on?
volume or sound properties?
Mute on?
Re-install sound drivers?

Control Panel - Multimedia - Audio tab.

Have you checked the BIOS settings?
