I have a CS1000 at 7.6
I would like to implement on hold messaging.
I have a USB-50 digital audio player that I have connected. Link
I cut off the one end of the audio cable and am using a scotchlock clip with the jumper cables to the bix where the trunk card TN is.

Here is a photo of my connections
Link

The yellow / blue jumper cable is connected to the bix for the trunk card TN.

Below are my PBX configurations for the route and member.

When I dial the access code of 4041, it is just dead air.
I have checked the TGAR and TARG of the phone vs. the route.

Do you think I am trying to do something that isn't possible?

Thanks.

Also are you connected to the BK/BL pair of the switch tail for unit 5

Also put a butt set on that pair of wires and see if you hear music.

When I put a butt set on the bix on TN 20-0-14-5 I do not hear anything.
How do I determine if the audio is 600ohm and if I am using the BK/BL pair?
Thanks.

First you need to make sure you have music on the end of that jumper wire before you terminate it. If you do then punch it down on the Black/Blue pair of the 25 pair switch tail on your bix block. The black/blue pair is unit 5 of that card if it is an NT8D14.

OK yes it is an NT8D14BB card.
So I should be able to put my butt set on the jumper wire with the clips and hopefully hear something.
Is the 600 ohm a PBX thing?

Yes, make sure you hear music on the end of those wires before you punch it down on the bix. The 600 ohm thing should be a non issue, t should work if you hear music on the butt set.

OK thanks very much KCFLHRC. I will do this in the morning and post. You have been very helpful.

Update - I put the butt set on the two jumper wires - no audio / sound at all.

Then there is a problem with your splice or the music unit
