Audio Hanging Need help......

Running 98 and on the boot up when the desktop appears the windows chime hangs for about 5 seconds like a scratched cd...any thoughts???

Could be a corrupt WAV file...
In Control Panel > Sounds try selecting another sound for Windows Startup All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.
