I am thinking about setting up audio groups on cm 6.1. My existing val board is in a g650. I would like to use my g450 as the second source. Can you mix gateways like this? Do I have to copy my existing announcements to the new val board?

Yes, you can mix gateway types. The resource on the G450 is a virtual VAL (no hardware). You will have to FTP the files to the G450.

Note: After announcements are in an Audio Group they cannot be changed using a telephone set to record/re-record. You have to remove the announcement fro the Audio Group, record it, FTP it to the other VAL resources, then put it back in the Audio Group.

thank you for your reply. We change our announcements all the time and different groups manage there own announcements. Audio groups would not work for us.

Might not be a bad idea to copy all of the announcements from the TN2501 to the G450 as a DR solution. If you lose the VAL board you just have to change the announcement port in the CM.

If your announcements change frequently, make it a weekly practice.
