This isn't a direct answer to your question. But it could be the case that there are many people in the forum that could help. However, your question is extremely vague. If the nature of the project is confidential then try to find questions that will give you answers that won't give away its nature. As you know what your project is your perspective of your post may be different to mine. But to me its pretty much the same as saying "I am writing a program, any suggestions".

Anyway about a year ago there was the java sound api that could do many things with sound files and also JDK1.3 onwards has sound abilities in its standard libraries.

Cheers

Sorry about the ambiguity. I should give more info. I am a senior in college and am writing my senior topic. It is a program that will take in a voice command and execute another command based upon the incoming command and a list of executable orders.

I chose to write it in java because I figured that it would be the easiest to work with and it is the language that I know the most about.

I will definitely check out the links that you mentioned. Thanks
