hiya (i'm a newbie here)

I have this problem with certain tapes that i capture, where the audio in the timeline looks wrong ie the waveforms aren't drawn correctly, they are just squiggly lines which bear little or no relation to the actual sound.
When this happens, my project will crash *very* regularly.

i have tried exporting the audio as soon as it's in the timeline and then reimporting it, but it still looks wrong and crashes all the time.

my setup is adobe premiere 6.0
and i am capturing via firewire through pinnacle dv500plus.

Any help would be much appreciated
