My XP Home on my Presario crapped out on me this week and I had to do a restore. I have everything reloaded, but I have a sound issue. I can hear sound from my speakers; CDs, Windows, websites that have sound. I have a TV tuner card that came with the PC, and I can hear sound when watching TV thru the TV Card. I Media Creator and I can hear sound when I capture sound thru it. BUT, I cannot get any sound when using the XP HOME Movie Maker Program that comes with XP. The place for audio input says no device and is grayed out. Any ideas? (PC has all updates)

I have never used Windows Movie Make but I would think that maybe you are missing a codec or an update it might need? Just a thought.
