Audio Delays when using Plantronics Amplifier
Here is the answer directly from the Plantronics website.
Plantronics M22 Amplifier: Going into sleep mode
Answer
Issue
You receive a call, but you do not get audio to your headset.
Cause
The issue is most likely caused by your amplifier falling into sleep mode. When you power amplifier with batteries only, it goes into Sleep Mode in between calls to prolong battery life. This issue occurs more often when you plug the amplifier into your headset port, rather than your handset port, because this configuration requires you press buttons on the amplifier less frequently. The amplifier goes into sleep mode after 2 to 3 minutes of inactivity.
Workaround/Resolution
On the amplifier, press either the headset or mute button twice to wake it. To prevent the amplifier from falling into sleep mode, you could use the optional AC power supply (Part Number 45671-01).
