When I open a file (mpg, mpeg, rm, etc...) the first player that I use only plays the audio and not the video. But if I open the same file with another player the video and audio plays. I have tried using Windows Media Player, Winamp, DivD, DivX, Real Player. It does not matter which is the first player used it always does the same. I have updated the players and the operating system which is Windows XP. I have also updated the codecs. I am lost as to why this is happening. Any help is sooo needed.

Have you updated gfx card drivers?
Failing that do a system wipe and reinstall, seems to be a quirk in windows maybe caused by a registry line being messed up or something similar. Seems like a fairly minor but annoying thing all depends how much it annoys you
