I get no conflict for either irq but some java applets think my voodoo3 2000 pci is my sound card. Sound card is built in soundmax on a dfi cw35e motherboard.

Cannot change irq in resources even after enabling manual setting in bios. The only option I have in bios for irq's is PCI or ISA.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could try changing the PCI slot the sound card is in. In my experience with motherboards PCI Slot 1 (Usually the one right next to the AGP slot) always takes the same IRQ as the AGP slot and PCI slot 4 always takes the same IRQ as the onboard USB. Try your sound card in SLOT 2 or 3 Windows 98 may plug 'n' play it again but if the sound card drivers are already on PC then this P'n'P after changing the SLOT will be no harm to your PC.

Thank you, Klae. I hadn't thought of that one but will try it when I get home. I did
think that perhaps I would have to install a new sound card or go back to using the onboard video.

Your suggestion makes absolute since and is greatly appreciated.

If your sound card is indeed onboard then try changing the location of your video card instead.
