Audigy 2 ZS only doing ONE channel/voice???

I was running a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value for months and could listen to mp3s, play games, etc. and the sounds were all there, overlapping but clearly distinct. When I went to the Audigy 2 ZS this is no longer the case. Even inside a game, like I'll hear the sound of my sword hitting whoever yet there is no sound effect for when I open my loot whereas before it did and I could hear my mp3s and even when I got e-mail...is the board bad? Why would even inside a game I can only hear one like 1 channel/voice? Very strange...any ideas? I'm tempted to go snag another Value card

Now it seems the sound card works but if I run a game then it gets messed up....after a clean boot it's fine....very strange....
